Daniel Sebastian BS
Daniel is a Fellow in The Lab @ DC. He also serves as a Data Scientist in the Executive Office of the Chief of Police at the Metropolitan Police Department, detailed to the Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Washington Field Division. While his primary focus is on firearms-related analysis and data, he also provides support for workforce analyses, strategic and tactical crime analysis, and mapping. At The Lab, Daniel is supporting an impact evaluation of the CGIC, as well as working to effectively integrate data science tools and practices in the public safety space.
Daniel was selected to be in the first cohort of Police for Tomorrow Fellows through Georgetown University Law Center where he had the opportunity to learn from thought leaders on Innovative Policing.
Daniel earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina and a certificate in Data Management and Applied Statistics from North Carolina State University. As a Ward 6 resident, Daniel enjoys exploring DC by bike and public transit.
