Jacob Henkels BA
Jacob Henkels is a Research Assistant at The Lab @ DC. He is currently a graduate student at American University pursuing an MS in Data Science with a focus on applied public affairs. His research interests include housing, health, and criminal systems policy.
Prior to joining The Lab @ DC, Jacob worked for his county’s Criminal Justice Department as a housing specialist with a focus on researching best housing practices for lowering recidivism rates. He was also a Fellow at the Roosevelt Institute where he gained experience building cooperative housing communities in his town.
Jacob received his BA in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a student-athlete. As a native of Cleveland, Ohio, he is an avid fan of all things Cleveland sports. Now, Jacob resides in Ward 3. In his free time, he enjoys exploring D.C., fencing, and making music.
