Tim Madden is the Podcast Intern atThe Lab @ DC. He records, produces, and publishes all of The Podcast @ DC’s episodes. He recently graduated magna cum laude from American University with a B.A. in Audio Production and Music, and he will be continuing at AU for one more year to work toward an M.A. in Audio Technology. Prior to joining The Lab, Tim was an intern at the Brookings Institution, one of the nation’s most highly regarded think tanks, that regularly produces and publishes four separate policy-related podcast series. He is also currently a podcast editor for AWOL, American University’s student-run investigative reporting magazine that tackles issues such as addiction on AU’s campus.
Originally from Herndon, Virginia, Tim currently lives in Ward 3. Aside from his work as an audio engineer, he is also a classical percussionist and conductor, participating in most of American University’s performing ensembles for four years and self-producing an album of etudes for solo snare drum as part of his senior capstone project. He enjoys cooking and expanding his culinary knowledge, and attending concerts by local orchestras, including the National Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony.
